About me

Clelie Roy, outdoor videographer

I am a French-born videographer and photographer specialised in outdoor settings. I work with a portrait-documentary approach to embody, through video, the identity of a business, an event, or a person.

Rooted between the rugged coasts of Brittany and the far shores of Auckland, I’ve carved out a path as a nomadic filmmaker, shaped by the stories I've lived along the way.

I offer my services to individuals and businesses who want to stand out with a powerful video to communicate their values. My academic background also allows me to assist companies looking to develop their communication strategy through content distribution.

MY STORY

Artistic expression has no limits and occupies a unique space in each individual. It has always been central in my life. From writing, acting, to music, I have explored this diversity of mediums throughout my life to express my ideas.

I found the perfect form in film making. It condenses writing, rhythm, image, and style. I held on this art for over ten years. Initially with family films, retrospectives, and aftermovies of projects or events. Over the years, through my journey and professional experiences, this medium became an obvious choice. I wanted to tell other people's stories. Through images, to capture and enhance those moments, making them more than just simple memories.

Graduating with a master's degree in event management, I gained skills in management and marketing that, combined with my technical video production expertise, provide me with a strong digital communication profile. I, then, spent a year in New Zealand, driven by the desire to film this country in all its aspects. I had the opportunity to lead projects in the tourism sector (ski resorts, surf schools) as well as capture some environmental challenges in rural areas. It was during this year that I specialised in outdoor video. I honed my portrait-documentary style, with a slightly contemplative touch, throughout these beautiful projects..

The great outdoor

my inspiration

My life in New Zealand allowed me to develop projects closely tied to nature, as well as with the key players involved in outdoor activities.

Why IPS ?

IPS stands for images per second in French (FPS in english). With a camera, you can record 25, 50, or even 100 images per second. It's a way to make a logical or artistic choice to slow down or speed up a shot.

IPS is also an abbreviation for ideas per second. A personal meaning for me that represents my creative process : many ideas rushing and intertwining in a chaotic flow, which I give meaning to through video..
